ABC Books

The ABC Books project is an interactive digital archive of rare children’s alphabet books from the University’s Cotsen Children’s Library made available for students of ENG 385: Children’s Literature. The platform serves as the basis of and inspiration for numerous assignments in the course and provides students with opportunities to work with the archive, learn the basics of text encoding, tag page images, and perform computational text analysis. The overarching goal of the project is for students not only to interact with the archive but also actively to build and enhance it each time the course is offered.

Access to the archive is restricted to participants of the course.
