Between November 2nd and 6th, 2015 (Fall Break week) the McGraw Center will co-sponsor a digital media bootcamp in partnership with the Council of the Humanities at Princeton.
The Media Boot Camp is designed to provide a practical grounding in some of the key digital technologies that are needed for students exploring media careers. Digital media open up new means of storytelling, presentation, and news gathering. The camp is open to students at Princeton who have taken at least one journalism course.
This hands-on workshop includes training in the need-to-know aspects of digital media: video, audio, image, and web skills. Sessions will be held at McGraw’s Digital Learning Lab, and include the basics of video camera work, Adobe Premiere, and the use of mobile devices. In the afternoon, students will work in teams on a multi-media story in Princeton, getting experience in story planning, field production, and post-production techniques.
